The owner before us decided to have a desert theme in our front yard flower beds. She must have had truck loads of rock dumped. We hate it!! My husband and I started digging it up and it goes down about a foot of rock and soil. Then after that is clay. We can’t afford to hire professionals, so we are trying to work with what we have. We figured there had to be some plants and/or flowers that thrive in rocky soil. Does anyone have experience with this type of soil? If so, what type of plants worked? We don’t want a desert theme; we want the traditional look. We live in Mid-Missouri. (Cactus seems like the easy answer, but they don’t grow predominately here at all.) Let me have your feedback! Thank you!
