I saved seeds from a cactus pear and would like to grow a plant from them. Can anyone offer advice? I would surely appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

The seeds should be planted in moist sand. The sand and pot should be very clean or the little plants could develop rot. Don’t use dirt from your garden because it may have bugs or fungi in it. Also, typical dirt does not drain enough and the mud can pack around the roots and suffocate them. The sand should drain well, cacti don’t like to stand in water, that makes them rot. Keep the sand just slightly moist, not dry or too wet. The seedlings will have very small roots that can dry out easily. Don’t put them in direct sunlight until they are big enough to take the heat. Just put in a well lighted area.
